The 1st from the series focused on 'Monitoring ground & infrastructure movements from space' online webinar was held on 27 May 2021. The webinar was organized by GWP-SEA, in collaboration with Viromii and Detektia. Detektia S. L. is a spin-off of the Laboratory of Topography and Geomatics of the Civil Engineering School of the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM) and has been created with the aim of applying the DInSAR technique to problems of stability and maintenance of dams and road infrastructure. Detektia is a DInSAR based company that aspires to revolutionize the control and maintenance of large engineering works, helping to create safer, more efficient and more durable infrastructures.
On March 11, 2021, the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) organized a virtual workshop to launch the activities of the study on the impacts of climate change and the cost of adaptation on the agricultural, water and coastal sectors in West Africa.

Yellow River Protection Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted in October 2022 and took effect on April 1st, 2023. The government of Senegal is looking to find a more sustainable response to flood governance, with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) has developed the Integrated Flood Management Project in Senegal (PGIIS), which is based on a scientific and institutional approach to urban flood management at the local and national levels, which goes beyond and national scale that goes beyond the construction of infrastructure.
World Water Day will be commemorated on March 22nd, as it has been since 1993. The day is dedicated to emphasize the value of freshwater. UN-Water is leading a campaign to make groundwater visible in 2022. Although groundwater may be out of sight, its impact is visible everywhere.
