The Burkina Faso project team carried out an exchange and experience sharing mission with that of Benin from 16 to 22 February 2020 in Cotonou and Natitingou (Benin). The TFTC project is active in Benin in reforestation, promotion of improved stoves and environmental education.

The Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance Train heads to the next stop on 15 June 2022. The 11th online interactive session explores the multi-level governance (MLG) in the transboundary water context with a particular focus on disaster management, such as flood management.

The 20th Meeting of the High Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) was held as part of the pre-event at the G20 17th meeting.

On 30 July 2020, Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) successfully co-organized the HELP-GWP PAN Asia online consultation meeting on Draft Principles on Addressing Water-Related Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) During Covid-19 Pandemic.

GWP South Asia joined the annual GWP Network Meeting 2019 on 26 June from 9.30 to 11.30a.m. (Sri Lanka time).

In preparation for the 9th World Water Forum to be held in Dakar in 2022, the Network of Water and Climate Organizations of Central African Youth (RECOJAC) organized a regional workshop on September 24th, 2021 within the framework of its Dakar 2022 youth mobilization project, Central African Youths Towards Dakar 2022 (CAY-TDAKAR2022), funded by UNESCO and supported by GWPO and GWP-CAf.

We are happy to introduce the GWP Water Academy for Youth (W.A.Y.). The GWP W.A.Y. is an opportunity for young professionals to realise their potential in the water community, become influencers and leaders, create momentum with key actors, and enhance youth engagement and empowerment in water resources management. The first global activity is a joint GWP, CAP-NET, University of Andres/UNESCO online course, “From Learning to Leading: Beyond the ABCs of Youth, Water, and the SDGs.” Registration opens on 17 August and the course is free.

The Caribbean Science Symposium on Water by the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C), takes place virtually on March 23rd – 25th, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time (AST) on each day. The theme of the event is “Building Resilience in the Regional Water Sector to Address Climatological and Hydrological Risks and Threats.”
