Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA), the regional body of Global Water Partnership (GWP), is seeking applications for the recruitment of its Chairperson.
The Global Water Partnership aims at supporting countries in the sustainable management of their water resources with a view to achieving their development goals. GWP recognizes that the overall development goals of poverty eradication, social and economic well-being and protection of natural resources cannot be achieved if water resources are not managed in a sustainable manner.
World Toilet Day is a United Nations Observance on 19 November that celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation. This year's theme is "Sustainable Sanitation and Climate Change".

Twenty-five years ago, the European Union and the Southern Mediterranean partners committed to turning the Mediterranean basin into an area of dialogue, exchange and cooperation, guaranteeing peace, stability and prosperity. The 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Declaration reminds us that a strengthened Mediterranean partnership remains a strategic imperative for the European Union, as the challenges the region continues to face require a common response. Recognising growing interdependences, the new Agenda for the Mediterranean aspires to turn common challenges into opportunities, in a mutual interest approach. Servicing these, regional cooperation efforts will continue, with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) as a focal point, supporting sub-regional and inter-regional cooperation, including with African partners, and joint initiatives between partner countries across the board.
The Regional Council (RC) meeting is the annual governance meeting of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) held from 9-10 November 2022 in Negombo, Sri Lanka. The two-day planning and progress review meeting was hosted by the Regional Chair, Ms Kusum Athukorala with the support of the GWP SAS Regional Secretariat. This was the first in-person regional meeting to be held after three years of online meetings.
