The UNEP-UNDP National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) and the Global Water Partnership (GWP) organized a joint webinar on accessing the GCF Readiness Support for National Adaptation Plan (NAP) on Wednesday, 8 December 2021. The webinar was attended by close to 100 participants representing GCF National Designated Authorities (NDAs), United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Focal Points, GCF Direct Access Entities (DAEs) and technical advisors, water, and climate specialists.
The GWL Programme focuses on implementing inclusive, climate resilient water policies and strategies in low and middle-income countries. GWPEA implements GWL in Rwanda and Uganda among the seven selected countries.

Work on revising Law No. 2008-005 of 30 May 2008, the framework law on the environment in Togo, is continuing with the organisation of two regional workshops in Kara and Atakpamé to share the current provisional version of the framework law on the environment and have it amended by local stakeholders.

Water governance must embrace gender equality and social inclusion if it is to truly contribute to poverty reduction as the world closes in on 2030, the world’s deadline for meeting the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals. Only by integrating gender and poverty issues into scientific research that informs and finances more equitable and inclusive policies, can we hope to move closer to these important goals.
