The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, with support from Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), is convening a Regional Workshop on the Regional Water Energy Food (WEF) Nexus Framework and testing the SADC WEF Nexus Investment Project Screening Tool. Bangkok, 14-15 February 2019 -- Following the successful implementation of financial workshop in 2018, this year Strengthening Workshop was held to support the country water partnership secretariat on the aspects of planning, monitoring and evaluation through monitoring dashboard that has just developed by the Regional Water Partnership (GWP-SEA).

Today’s water challenges need all water interests to be at the table to jointly diagnose, discuss, and develop shared solutions – including the private sector. Over the past years, GWP has been able to build experience in engaging the private sector. To further develop this work, engagement with the private sector cuts across all three GWP Anchor Areas (climate resilience, Sustainable Development Goals, and transboundary water cooperation) in the GWP 2020-2025 Strategy.
Water and climate change is the theme for celebrating World Water Day 2020 at a time when access to sufficient and safe water for all to meet sustainable development goals by 2030 remains a major challenge in an increasingly critical global climate context.

Global Water Partnership (GWP)’s Africa Coordination Unit hosted the first Transboundary Water Governance Lab online event on the 18th November, with the purpose of assessing interest in the establishment of an International Water Law Community of Practice (CoP). The event was attended by alumni and partners of the Pan-African Water Governance and International Water Law, which has taken place annually since 2015.
