TFTC project holds final meetings in Togo and Burkina Faso

The first phase of the project TonFuturTonClimat funded by the Quebec Government implemented in three West African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo) by ISW, GWP-WA, CWPs and Eau Vive Togo is coming to an end. Launched at regional level in March 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the project is aiming at developing the climate resilience capacities of rural and peri-urban youth to become agricultural entrepreneurs that contribute to improve the livelihood of their communities in the three countries.

Improving the implementation of IWRM in the Lake Chad Basin within the climate change context: LCBC and GWP-CAf organize a training of trainers

As part of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded regional initiative, "Lake Chad Management Improvement Support" project, jointly implemented by the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the LCBC in collaboration with GWP Central Africa (GWP-CAf) organized a regional workshop in Douala, Cameroon from July 6th – 9th, 2021 to train national and regional trainers on the implementation of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) approach at the transboundary level within a climate change context.

Le Partenariat mondial de l’eau (GWP) organise un échange entre pairs des responsables des plateformes pays du GWP. L’événement sera organisé le Jeudi 21 janvier 2021 et portera sur comment mobiliser et engager vers de plus forts Partenariats Nationaux de l’Eau – PNE (et autres plateformes pays du GWP).

Dr. Paulette Bynoe is a Senior Lecturer and the Interim Deputy Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research, University of Guyana. She is also a current member of the GWP Caribbean Steering Committee. In this interview, she describes the University of Guyana and its partnership with GWP, which started in 2010.

Funding matchmaking initiative

Operated by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, the Funding Matchmaking Initiative aims to match country-defined priorities for water management improvements which are lacking financing or only have partial funding, with local funding sources, external donors and other funding agencies that have available financing but which are not currently investing in water management at the scale required or in the most coordinated manner.
