El Fondo Verde del Clima (FVC) es el único órgano de los mecanismos de financiación de la Convención Marco de Naciones Unidas para el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC) que se dedica exclusivamente a abordar la crisis climática. The regional organisation Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) and the Energy and Water Agency (EWA) of Malta are organizing the Capacity Building Workshop ‘Non-Conventional Water Resources Management: Local Solutions’, that will take place on 13 and 14 November 2019 and will be hosted by the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).
This year's topic of the Danube Water Conference, held on 20-21 May 2019 was “Achieving resilience in water and wastewater utilities in the Danube region”.
GWP’s global and regional staff met in Amman, Jordan, on 13-16 May for the network’s annual Regional Days. One of the big agenda items was GWP’s new Strategy 2020-2025, which is due to be launched in July. Other topics were GWP’s 3-year work programmes and finding a common understanding around GWP’s work in convening multi-stakeholder dialogues.
GWP's annual Network Meeting 2019 took place 25-26 June. Based on the successful participation of so many Partners at last year’s meeting, an online ‘Follow the Sun’ consultation was also held this year. All GWP Partners were invited.
To contribute to closing the visibility gap between entrepreneurs, investors and enablers in the “Water Nexus”, the 4IP Group and Waterpreneurs are co-organising a matchmaking forum for sustainable development in Lusaka, Zambia, on 19-20 June. GWP Southern Africa is an event partner.
The Volta Basin Authority (VBA) held from 9 to 11 April 2019 the 4th session of the Forum of Parties which is a platform bringing together in addition to the VBA member States representatives of major stakeholders including farmers, women, youth associations, private sector, NGOs, etc. active in the basin.
A CWP Burkina and GWP-WA team including the regional Project Officer, a Young Professional and the Executive Secretary of the CWP-BF, visited Koankin in the rural commune of Saponé to monitor and observe the effective start of composting activities as part of the implementation of the TFTC project in Burkina Faso.
