Interactive Online Session: International Water Law and Dispute Settlement

Back by popular demand, the Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance Train starts its ‘Season 2’ in September 2021. This series of online engagement sessions follow a ‘train-like’ approach, stopping at various locations around the world and focusing on topics related to transboundary freshwater security. Each new stop explores a different topic from the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security. In addition to GWP and Wuhan International Water Academy (IWLA), ‘Season 2’ will be co-organised with various partners working in the transboundary water governance space. The first session focuses on international dispute settlement, co-organised by GWP and IWLA, and takes place on 21 September.

GWP Network Meeting 2020: Bringing the Change

GWP Partners are invited to the Annual Network Meeting of GWP Partners 2020, which takes place online on 21-22 October, under the theme ‘Bringing the Change’. This is an opportunity when Partners can learn from each other and exchange ideas with GWP. As part of the Network Meeting, the Partners have the opportunity to comment on the GWP in Action 2019 Annual Report and the GWP Annual Financial Report 2019.

International Youth Day Advice: “Know Thyself”

In celebration of International Youth Day 2020 on 12 August, GWP organised an online discussion with GWP Youth Engagement Specialist Rianna Gonzales, who interviewed GWP Southern Africa Youth Coordinator Paseka Lesolang about his achievements as an entrepreneur and influencer. Paseka said that one of the most important skills that has brought him to where he is today, is self-knowledge. This has allowed him to stretch himself to the next point. “Know thyself” was therefore one of his key messages.

GWP-C Led Initiative to Develop Investment Portfolio for Financing Climate Change Projects in the Dominican Republic is Underway

Global Water Partnership Caribbean (GWP-C) in coordination with the National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism of the Dominican Republic (CNCCMDL) and funded by the NDC Partnership, are developing a portfolio of bankable investments to finance climate change projects in the Dominican Republic (DR). The consultancy is being carried out by the company Viridia Projects.

New guide aims to assist in the design of Transboundary Water Agreements

The first Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance event for 2022 kicked off on 16 February and included 150 participants from around the world. They explored how the design of Transboundary Water Agreements may affect their performance, and the ‘key ingredients’ that should be considered when creating such agreements.
