Agua, mujeres, y café en español: Con mucho entusiasmo las invitamos al primer evento en español de la Comunidad de Mujeres en Agua el próximo 8 de abril. En esta una reunión virtual -compartiendo un café- colegas de países de habla hispana intercambian opiniones sobre las oportunidades y desafíos de ser una mujer que trabaja en temas de agua. Será una gran oportunidad para conocer colegas mujeres de diferentes partes del mundo y con intereses y habilidades muy diversas.

SADC and partners to convene Gender Session at 9th SADC RBO Workshop

The Gender Session for the 9th Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) River Basin Organisations / Shared Watercourse Institutions (RBOs/SWIs) Workshop will be held virtually on 21 September 2021, under the theme ‘Integrating gender equality and social inclusion into water programs of the SADC RBOs/SWIs and Member States.

Regional Webinar on Valuing Water – Sharing Country Level Experience & Lessons in South Asia

World Water Day is commemorated on 22 March - an annual UN observance to focus attention on the global water crisis. This year’s theme is 'Valuing Water', exploring what water means to people, its value and how we can protect this essential life resource. GWP South Asia, the global GWP office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Netherlands are organising a regional webinar on experiences and lessons at country level.

Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA)

The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) is an international conference on central issues of vital importance for global agricultural and food policies. It is held annually in Berlin, however the 2021 edition will be held online on 18-22 January. The theme is "How to Feed the World in Times of Pandemics and Climate Change". GWP's Julienne Roux will be one of the expert speakers on Monday 18 January.

Interactive Online Session: International Water Law and Climate Change

GWP and Wuhan International Water Law Academy are co-organising an interactive online series called the "Transboundary freshwater security governance train". The series of online engagements sessions is conducted in an approach of a ‘train’ stopping at various locations in the world, with focus on topics related to transboundary freshwater security. At each of the stops, a different topic from the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security is explored. In the 4th session, the topic is "International Water Law and Climate Change" and it takes place on 20 April.

GWP response to COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting societies and economies of countries at their core at different levels. It will most likely increase poverty and inequalities in South Asia, making achievement of SDGs even more urgent.
