The launching of the new GEF Drin II Project marks a bold step forward in addressing the environmental and socio-economic challenges of the extended Drin River Basin.

Over 70 representatives from fifteen African Union Member States gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the 13 - 14 February 2025 for a training on AU Guidelines for the development of National Climate Resilient Water Investment Programmes. The training was part of the build-up to the 2025 AU-AIP Water Investment Summit which South Africa will host in the context of the G20 Presidency, and the 2026 UN Water Conference to be co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal.

The “Let’s work with nature!” webinar was attended by high school students from four Sava basin countries.

The session coordinated by GWP-WA was held on Thursday 23 May 2024 at the Senegal Pavilion during the World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. The “built water storage South Asia project” in-country consultation was held with the participation of Water Experts on 12 June 2024 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The participants made a field trip which took them to the Tanguiéta town hall for exchanges with the mayor, Mr. BOUKARY Zakari, the different beneficiary communities of the TFTC 2 and WACDEP-G projects, the handing over of materials and equipment and a visit to some of the youth and women's action sites in the framework of the project.

The Global Water Partnership Caribbean (GWP-C) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Roxanne Graham-Victor as the new GWP-C Coordinator, effective May 1st, 2025. Dr. Graham-Victor- a Grenadian, is an accomplished environmental specialist, with a wealth of expertise in marine and water resource management. She holds a PhD in Maritime Affairs, with her research focusing on marine debris management in the Eastern Caribbean, as well as a Master’s degree in Marine Affairs specializing in invasive species and their impact on marine ecosystems.
