An online Workshop on “Gender Equality (GE) for Sustainable Development in Nexus sectors in Drin Riparians” took place on 12 October 2021 with the participation of around 55 representatives from different gender related institutions and nexus related sectors, gender focal points, civil society, academia, women empowerment activists and experts from Albania, Kosovo* and North Macedonia. Its overall purpose was to bring these actors together to discuss challenges and opportunities for promoting gender equality as a driver for sustainable development in Drin Riparians.

29 May 2021, the Junior Water Prize (JWP) Final was broadcast live to 900,000 audiences online. 15 teams of 13-18-year-old students from 8 provinces shared their innovative products and answered the jury to realize their innovative solutions to improve water and environment development. Zhan Hanchu and Huang Haoxing, Guangdong Experimental Middle School, won the award for their "voice-controlled water saving device”.
13 October marks the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. The Lake Ohrid Watershed Management Plan was presented and discussed with representatives from all related authorities of North Macedonia marking another step towards its official adoption.
