April 8, 2020 – The Global Water Partnership (GWP) has begun a search for an Executive Secretary, its top executive position. Monika Weber-Fahr, the current Executive Secretary, announced in early March that she would step down effective June 30, 2020.

We are launching the Water ChangeMaker Awards 2020 at an extraordinary time. The world is in a global health crisis and the economic future of many people is at risk. Both need the full attention of governments, businesses, and citizens around the world.
Global Water Partnership (GWP) is assessing, on an ongoing basis, the COVID-19 crisis and the impact it is having on the health, daily lives, and livelihoods, of our staff, our members and stakeholders, and the consequences to our 2020 global work plans.
World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, is an annual United Nations Observance focusing on the importance of freshwater. This year's "Water and Climate Change" theme indicates why it is important to take action right now.
