Monika Weber-Fahr took up her new position as Executive Secretary of Global Water Partnership on 7 May. “As the newest kid on the block I’m feeling very humbled. I’m inspired by what the network is and what it has done in the past 20+ years, and what it can do going forward in a world where water is such a huge priority”, she says.

The High-Level International Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” will be held on 20-22 June in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
On her visit to the Hellenic Parliament on 27 February 2020, Global Water Partnership Executive Secretary, Dr Monika Weber-Fahr, extended an invitation to Greek Parliamentarians and Government to strengthen their collaboration with the Global Water Partnership network, in order to address global and regional challenges to water security.
River Basin Management 2019 is the 10th Conference in a series which marks the growing international interest in the planning, design and management of river basin systems. The event will cover all aspects of Hydrology, Ecology, Environmental Management, Flood Plains and Wetlands. It takes place in Alicante, Spain.
World Water Day (WWD) is commemorated on 22 March every year. This year’s theme was “Leaving no one behind”. GWP and its Partners worldwide supported the theme by arranging a wide range of activities. Building on the success of the events held in 2013 and 2016, Hungary will host the third Budapest Water Summit in 2019. Under the patronage of H.E. Mr János Áder, President of Hungary, the conference will take place on 15-17 October 2019. The conference is organised by the Government of Hungary.
