The Africa EU Mediterranean Continental Session of the GWP 2020 Network Meeting, which is open to all partners, will take place on 22 October 2020 at 11:00 – 13:30 CAT under the theme ‘Bringing the Change’.

World Food Day is celebrated annually around 16 October. He coordinates GEC’s work on lake and river management, pollution control and environmental education. Dr. Kalithasan has over 20 years of working experience in river ecosystem management, particularly on stakeholder engagement and environmental education.

Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) is one of 13 Regional Water Partnerships and the oldest network of GWP. GWP-SEA has strong regional networks and partners in all sectors as well as Country Water Partnerships (CWPs). Today there are CWPs in all 8 countries in the region, namely Lao PDR, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia. These CWPs have growing number of GWP partners who represent a wide diversity of sectors e.g. water management, agriculture, education, environment, professional organizations, development banks, rural & community development organizations, government institutions, NGOs, INGOs and so forth.

The Asia Region Online Workshop Supporting the Monitoring and Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicator 6.5.2 on Transboundary Water Cooperation was successfully held virtually on 17 September 2020. GWP is one of the partners behind the workshop along with UN-ESCAP, UNESCO-IHP, and UNECE.
