In Autumn 2019, GWP CEE and emerging young water leaders organized 8 National Dialogues between youth and decision-makers in 8 Central and Eastern European countries.
The NWSAS Consultation Mechanism held its 12th Steering Committee (SC) in Tunis, October 3rd, 2018.
The three riparian countries, Algeria, Libya and Tunisia, discussed the options presented by GWP-Med tin relation to the enhancement of the institutional and legal setting of the NWSAS consultation mechanism.
With the overall vision of achieving water security and the SDGs, GWP supports mandated actors to advance water governance through the application of IWRM principles – widely accepted as the keys to solving the problem of sharing limited water resources equitably among many competing water users. Our most meaningful results therefore lie in the governance improvements introduced by actors at all levels where GWP is active. These governance improvements, recorded as tangible outcomes, occur in “change areas” which cover the wide array of the water governance spectrum.
GWP China Yangtze River was founded in December, 2018, to convene all members to promote the Water Law of the PRC in accordance with the Constitution of the PRC.
Benin has established a Network of Professional Women in the Water and Sanitation Sector (RBFPEA) on 11 May 2018 in Cotonou to promote the involvement of professional women in the implementation of actions and projects and highlight their contribution to the development of the sector. CWP-Benin strongly supported the initiative.
Three main objectives guided the workshop's work: (1) to revitalize the Network, (2) to rework MAYI magazine issue 2, and (3) to revise the regional communication strategy of GWP CAf.

Water is the interconnector of all other sectors; Therefore, it is not possible to support sectors development without understanding the role of water as one of the important development foundation. As important as it is, water is still considered as social goods and do not have value by development actors. This condition has created a very complex challenge for the development of water sector itself. In Asia Pacific region, the complexities of water challenges then urged the establishment of The Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) in Asia Pacific region.
