El taller técnico Conceptos transformacionales para la elaboración de propuestas ante el Fondo Verde para el Clima ha reunido a entidades nacionales, regionales e internacionales, todas las cuales son partes interesadas importantes en la arquitectura del FVC, que están comprometidas a contribuir a un objetivo importante: permitir a los países preparar proyectos hídricos para resiliencia climática de alta calidad que puedan ser apoyados por el FVC.

GWP is contributing to the development of a 2-part webinar series on farmer-led irrigation (FLI), in partnership with the World Bank, the International Water Management Institute, and the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute. The first webinar is on 11 June, on the topic "Accelerating Inclusive FLI and Reaching Scale: Key Considerations".
A two-day workshop on the Climate-Land-Energy-Water (CLEWs) modelling framework and its use in the Nexus Assessment of the Drina River Basin took place on 8,9 July 2021. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarise participants with the Climate, Land, Energy and Water systems (CLEWs) nexus methodology, used to quantitatively assess the energy-water interlinkages within the Nexus assessment of the Drina River Basin. By providing an overview of general concepts, tools used and hands-on experience on model building, the workshop opened the box of the modelling analysis to the audience and laid the ground for local uptake of the model infrastructure.
GWP-WA is developing fruitful collaboration ties with strategic partners in the region including with UEMOA in helping this regional economic community to implement part of its work plan focusing on IWRM and water related SDGs activities.
GWP held its annual Regional Days meeting on 1-4 June. The virtual event set a record in numbers, with over 120 GWP participants worldwide. While the main purpose is to have a shared understanding of GWP priorities and approaches, one of the highlights this year was the ‘virtual signing’ of a grant agreement between GWP and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) on readiness support to the Zambia National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
In March 2020, CWP-Benin, and Speak Up Africa (SUA) signed a partnership agreement for a grant of approximately Three million (3,000,000) CFA francs over a period from March to August 2020. This fund is intended to carry out a plea for a better management of the sanitation issue in Benin.
