The fifth meeting of the Programme for Infrastructure development in Africa (PIDA) held in Cairo, Egypt from 25 to 29 November 2019 (PIDA WEEK).

The Indian Institute of Technology and the National Institute of Hydrology Roorke jointly organise a biannual, international conference on water issues. On 26-28 February 2020, the Roorkee Water Conclave will be held on the topic of "Hydrological Aspects of Climate Change". It takes place in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India.

“Water, sanitation and hygiene are absolutely critical for resilient societies. Whether you are talking about resilience to diseases like Covid-19 or resilience to climate change. And for resilience, you need a strong sector and for good water decisions to be made”, says Virginia Newton-Lewis, Director of Policy and Advocacy at WaterAid Sweden.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has invited leaders to New York on 23 September for one week to boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. GWP will be present during the week and is calling on its network to participate in the climate strikes.
