The Global Water Partnership Central Asia and Caucasus (GWP CACENA) is seeking to hire an expert familiar with the Paris Agreement, NDCs, and NAPs in order to synthesize the results of a gap assessment that will be done in the CACENA region and support the development of a strategic planning document for the region.

The Youth H₂O forum joined a number of stakeholders in commemorating World Water Day which fell on 22^nd March 2016. The day was commemorated in two different places. The main event was held in Choma Southern province on the 21^st March, and the other event was held in Lusaka at Mtendere Clinic. 

The SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue is an event organised by the SADC Directorate of Infrastructure and Services, Water Division to provide a forum for practitioners in the region to have a dialogue with water using and water influencing sectors. The underlying objective is to ensure that the interventions in the water sector are well communicated to the non-water sector actors and also create an environment to receive inputs from them. On 27 December 2017, Sudan Water Partnership, with the support of GWP, convened a workshop in Khartoum, Sudan that gathered various stakeholders to discuss on SDG 6.5.1 targets and indicators.

Global Water Partnership (GWP) is partnering with The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM) in holding the 2nd Zambezi Basin Stakeholders’ Forum.

GWP has been implementing the Water, Climate and Development Program for Africa (WACDEP) as part of the work plan of the African Union’s African Ministerial Council on Water (AMCOW). The First Phase of WACDEP has been implemented in 8 countries and 5 transboundary basins in Africa. AMCOW, during the Africa Water Week in July 2016 in Tanzania, endorsed WACDEP to be expanded to additional 10 countries. Kenya is one of the countries selected for the second phase of WACDEP. WACDEP in Kenya is being implemented to support emerging priorities of the country on climate change, financing, sustainable development goals and investment preparation. It will be linked to the National Adaptation Planning (NAP) Process, particularly focusing on Water.
