Why does GWPEA exists? Which purpose and which challenges does it have to address?

The Gambia Country Water Partnership is a young partnership established in December 2011 and accredited in 2016. Among other things funding remains a major constraint. Inadequate and slow responses to proposals have delayed the implementation of planned programmes and the establishment of a more formal secretariat. But the Partnership continues to make efforts to mobilize resources to enable it carry out its activities

The Alter Aqua Video Game is a tool to raise awareness and sensitize primary and secondary school students on the use of Non Conventional Water Resources and the importance of saving water every day!

The 6th Africa Water Week (AWW6) takes place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 18-22 July. The event is convened by the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) together with the African Union Commission and other development partners. GWP will convene/co-convene a number of sessions.

Nepal is particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts for a variety of environmental, social, and economic reasons. Average temperatures have been rising steadily since the 1970s. Most of the mountain ranges within Nepal are home to extensive glaciers which are experiencing widespread retreat. Glacial discharge in turn impacts the hydrological regimes of rivers downstream and causes rapid growth of glacial lakes; glacier lake outburst floods (GLOFs) are one of many climate change phenomena with the potential to pose extreme risk to populations, infrastructure, etc.

RIVER Ranger Training of Trainers (ToT) - Community River Monitoring Programme focused on empowering the officers within the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) nationwide who are the guardian of the Malaysian rivers trained as qualified RIVER Rangers.

Sri Lanka Water Partnership (SLWP) joined hands with Central Environment Authority (CEA) and Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation (SLLRDC) to mark World Wetlands Day (WWD) on 2 February 2018.
