GWP is participating in the UNFCCC COP21 conference taking place in Paris, France from 30 November until 11 December. Funding for water resources management and future financing mechanisms are two of the topics that GWP will speak up for at the gathering.
GWP eastern Africa partnered with the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) to honor winners of the Nile Media Awards 2015 competition at a ceremony held on June 4, 2015 at Saint Gaspar Hotel in Dodoma, Tanzania.
The First High Level Ministerial Panel on Responding to Climate and Environmental Challenges in South East Europe (SEE) took place on 1st April 2016, in Podgorica, in the framework of the South East Europe Strategy 2020 and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
The workshop took place on 18 and 19 February 2016 in Abidjan, en Côte d’Ivoire for the preparation of the project entitled « conservatin of ecosystems and international management of water resources of the Mano River ».
The United Nations’ (UN) International Women’s Day is observed on March 8th each year. It’s a day to “celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.”
The Inception Meeting of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) supported project “Enabling Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the extended Drin River Basin” took place in Tirana, on 16 December 2015, at the presence of Mr. Edmond Panariti, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Administration, Mr. Ferid Agani, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, as well as Mr. Stevo Temelkovski, Deputy Minister of Environment and Physical Planning.

Upon finalization of the campaign ÔVI (eau=vie / water=life) that has been running throughout February and March in primary schools around Tunisia to raise awareness on water scarcity and the importance of water saving, the Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) celebrated the World Water Day by organizing a workshop on “Water, Youth and Employment” on Saturday, 19 March 2016, in Hammamet.
