A book on Sri Lanka’s history of irrigation

The book “Hela Wari Purawatha” – a research on Sri Lanka’s history of irrigation from the beginning to modern times in Sinhala was launched by the Mahaweli Centre, and presented to President Maithripala Sirisena at President’s office on the 19 June 2018.

Caribbean and Central America Join Forces on Rainwater Harvesting

GWP Central America hosted a regional workshop on Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) on 22-23 September in El Salvador. The workshop brought together practitioners from across the region. GWP Caribbean also took part, under the theme “Considerations for Implementing Policies and Practices Related to Rainwater Harvesting and Addressing Climate Change.”

Hurricane relief efforts are underway in Abaco and Grand Bahama. Search and recovery efforts continue, as you have probably seen or heard in the news. Shortly, our Partner, the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) of The Bahamas, will start rebuilding the water and sewerage infrastructure.

GWP SEA in Action Initial Development of Collaboration Between GWP Southeast Asia and Lancang-Mekong Water Cooperation Centre (LMWRCC)

Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Mechanism was proposed by Chinese Primer Likeqiang ni the 17th China-ASEAN Leaders’ meeting held in November of 2015, which aims to strengthen all-round and friendly cooperation among China and Mekong countries and promote regional overall development. The First Lancang-Mekong (LMC) Foreign Ministers Meeting held in Jinghong, Yunnan Province of China in November of 2015 formally announced the establishment of the LMC Mechanism.
