#YOURFUTUREYOURCLIMATE

TonFuturTonClimat (YourFutureYourClimate) is an initiative that aims to integrate young people into the decision-making process for action related to adaptation and resilience to climate change in three West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo. The initiative is being developed in the framework of the international climate cooperation programme financed by the Québec Green Fund. It is coordinated by the Global Water Partnership West Africa GWP-WA), the International Secretariat for Water (ISW) in collaboration in the Countries with the Country Water Partnerships (CWP) of Benin, Burkina Faso and the NGO Eau Vive in Togo. « WATER AND ENVIRONMENT » MEDIA COMPETITION 2017

(Ouagadougou, October 09, 2017) - The West and Central Africa Programme of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN / PACO), the Regional Partnership for the Conservation of Coastal and Marine area in West Africa and the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) released today October 9, 2017 the names of the winners of the fourth edition of the "Water and Environment Journalism" competition. The competition which was launched on August 1, 2017 for one month had two price categories: Continental Waters and Marine and coastal waters. Two winners were selected for each category. This fourth edition registered the participation of many journalists from several countries in West Africa. The winners are as follows:

The vision of the GWP-CAf is for of a "Central Africa where water security is assured". Our mission is to "support sustainable development through the promotion and implementation of integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Central Africa".

Follow up on training programme on IWRM to build capacities of actors in West Africa

An International Training Programme on Integrated Water Resources Management (ITP/IWRM) carried out between 2005 and 2010 was funded by the Swedish cooperation to train about 150 West African professionals on IWRM. The training covered 6 successive promotions and was led by Ramboll-Natura (now NIRAS), SIWI and GWP-WA as co-organizer and "regional anchor" of the ITP IWRM courses.

Webinar Calls Attention to Water in Migration Debate

Migration is a complex and multi-layered issue, with many pre-conceptions and controversies surrounding the debate on it. On 22 January, GWP together with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and Partners, organised a webinar to shed some light on the linkages between water insecurity and outmigration from rural areas.

Evaluation of causes of a massive land subsidence and ef-fectiveness of measures to control of them in Jakarta and other cities

Jakarta, 27 November 2018 -- A discussion to evaluate the cause of land subsidence in Jakarta was held in the Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Indonesia premises. Several experts from various technical background were presented their findings. Burkina Faso, the IDPM requested to support national drought plan development

On Friday 27 July, the team in charge of developing the national drought plan for Burkina Faso met with the CWP-Burkina Faso Executive Secretariat Team to discuss the participation of the Integrated Drought Management platform set up by the CWP Burkina Faso under IDMP- West Africa in the process.
