About GWP-SEA

Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) is one of 13 Regional Water Partnerships and the oldest network of GWP. GWP-SEA has strong regional networks and partners in all sectors as well as Country Water Partnerships (CWPs). Today there are CWPs in all 8 countries in the region, namely Lao PDR, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia. These CWPs have growing number of GWP partners who represent a wide diversity of sectors e.g. water management, agriculture, education, environment, professional organizations, development banks, rural & community development organizations, government institutions, NGOs, INGOs and so forth.

GWP-C Feature: Meet Jodian Pinder: The Woman Revolutionizing Sanitation in Jamaica

In 2022, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C), along with partner agencies, including the GEF CReW+, UNEP Caribbean Environment Programme and the Cartagena Convention Secretariat in collaboration with the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) and Caribbean WaterNet (the Caribbean arm of Cap-Net UNDP), hosted the first-ever International Online Training Programme on the "Preparation of Shit Flow Diagrams (SFDs) for Caribbean Countries."

GWP–Med at World Water Week 2019

"Millions of lives could be at risk if we don’t take the water crisis and global warming more seriously" was among the key closing messages of the 2019 World Water Week (25-30 August, Stockholm), organised by SIWI. Many of the Week’s 250+ sessions showcased water-related solutions to global challenges such as climate change and food scarcity. More than 4000 participants from 138 countries called upon governments, institutions and stakeholders including the private sector, to improve water management and practically implement available solutions to critical water challenges.

United Nations Summit on Biodiversity

The United Nations Summit on Biodiversity is convened by the President of the General Assembly on 30 September, at the level of Heads of State and Government under the theme of “Urgent action on biodiversity for sustainable development.”

GWP-WA at GWP Regional Days in Amman

The annual Global Water Partnership’s Regional Meetings held in Amman, Jordan on 13-16 May 2019, with the participation of GWP regions, including the GWP West Africa represented by the Chair, the Executive Secretary, the Project Manager and the Communication and knowledge Manager.

GWP Contributes to International Symposium on Water and Culture

The International Symposium on “Water and Culture: Learning from Water Heritage to Innovate Regional Development” was held on 3 February in Tokyo, Japan. The aim was to achieve a deeper understanding of relations between people and water by visiting water heritage around the world. About 260 people from 43 countries participated, among those GWP Chair Howard Bamsey and GWP Technical Committee Chair Jerome Delli Priscoli. Dr. Delli Priscoli shared reflections from the U.S. experience on water resources.
