During the Horizon Europe SpongeWorks second General Assembly, participants were updated about the project's achievements, witnessed first hand the implementation of sponge measures in the French demonstrator and provided input on the way forward. GWP-Med received the Outreach and Impact award for its impactful communication of the project's activities.
Malaysia is required to report on its progress toward achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the United Nations (UN). The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia serves as the National Focal Point for SDG Indicator 6.5, which aims to “implement integrated water resources management at all levels, including through transboundary cooperation as appropriate” by 2030.
With technical support from the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), the governments of Mozambique and Zimbabwe have developed a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Buzi, Pungwe, and Save (BUPUSA) River Basins. Upon finalization, the TDA is expected to inform the priorities for unlocking investments for reduction in environmental degradation, reduction in poverty, improved water quality, green and grey infrastructure development, flood control, and improved water governance of the BUPUSA Basins.
Project to support the operationalization of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to strengthen resilience to climate change in transboundary basins in West Africa (PAGIREC- AO), this is the title of the funding request whose validation of the detailed request motivated the restricted technical regional workshop organized on December 14 and 15, 2023 in Ouagadougou by the Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and Environment (DAREN) of the WAEMU Commission, in collaboration with the Water Resources Management Centre (CGRE) of the ECOWAS Commission and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA).

Bali, Indonesia | August 15, 2025 – The Young AgroEcoVisionary 2025 international student competition gathered bright young innovators from ASEAN universities to design practical environmental solutions for the region. Held from 2–17 August 2025 in Bali, Indonesia, the event combined knowledge exchange, teamwork, and innovation to address pressing issues such as wastewater treatment, sustainable land use, and circular economy approaches.
