The scope of the Karachi international water conference reflects the theme of the post 2015 development agenda which is focused on achieving the “Sustainable Development Goals” by 2030.

GWP West Africa together with the West and Central Africa Programme of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN / PACO) and the Regional Partnership for the Conservation of Coastal and Marine area in West Africa (PRCM) gathered the winners of the water and environment journalism award. The action took place on 25 November 2017 as a side event at the PRCM regional Forum that held from 23 to 27 November in Conakry, Guinea.
Global Water Partnership (GWP) Africa teamed-up with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), under the implementation of the National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) to lead the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Regional Training Workshop for Asia on “Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation into Water Resources”.
This workshop goes in the Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) within the WEFE Nexus Workshop in West Africa (WAF). It will help to reach a common understanding of the WAF Project Document/Kick-off the Program and serve as an inception of the Regional Guidelines.
The Ministry of Water Resources of China has introduced a Master Programme for Water Professionals, that is currently being implemented by the Chinese government.
A national workshop on the appropriation of the dialogue NEXUS Water-Energy- Food Security was organized on 02 and 03 May 2018 by the National Coordination of Users of the Niger basin (CNU). The CWP-MALI was represented by its chair, Mr Sylla Mamadou.
