A 3-day conference on water security through rain water harvesting will be held on 27-29 November in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The aim is provide a multidisciplinary platform for practitioners and professionals to discuss the innovations, trends, and concerns to enhance water security through rain water harvesting.

BRATISLAVA, January 15, 2018 – Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe is proud to announce that a new international initiative pairing young water advocates with policymakers has been selected for funding by the European Union's Erasmus+ program.

A new guidance document has been developed to support the design of well-balanced strategies for Integrated Flood Management. “This guidance document serves as the operational link between the policy and tool papers previously published by the Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM),” said Johannes Cullman, Director of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Climate and Water Department.

During the 5^th Meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Water Expert Group (WEG) in November 2015, a UfM Ministerial Conference on Water has been proposed to take place the first semester of 2017 in Malta. The technical process towards that was launched  with the WEG mandating a Drafting Group to elaborate on technical contents, in case the political partners decide to convene the suggested ministerial meeting.

Lesotho Water Partnership worked with the Ministry of Water Affairs to develop a white paper on Lesotho Water Legislation.

GWP Nigeria organized a General Assembly of Partners on February 2nd, 2017 and among the activities was the election of a new chair for the partnership. Dr Hassan Bdliya has served two terms in office from 2010 to 2016. After a rigorous process of selection, the country partners nominated and elected Mr. Moses Beckley as the new chair.

In the implementation process of the Multi Year Programme 4 (MYP), the Benin Country Water Partnership (CWP) and its partner, the Belgian NGO PROTOS welcome in Cotonou from 19 to 23 March a team of experts led by Jan Walravens of International Marine and Dredging Consultants (IMDC).

The Regional Water Partnership for West Africa (GWP/WA), the regional body of the Global Water Partnership is seeking candidates for the position of its Chair.

Global Water Partnership Southern Africa Partners adopted strategic repositioning towards water security, job creation, industrialization and SDG implementation in June 2017.

The GWP CAf and the UNESCO Regional Multisectoral Office for Central Africa, in collaboration with ECCAS, organized from 8 to 10 November 2017, a capacity-building workshop on IWRM and climate resilience in the context of transboundary catchment basins, in the case of transboundary catchment basins.
