GWP/WA in collaboration with its partners IUCN, VBA, Eau Vive Internationale and IRC has started coaching young professionals through its regional programme for the employability of young people in jobs related to water security and climate resilience, which is implemented through the Integrated Drought Management Project in West Africa (IDMP-WA), #TonFuturTonClimat initiative, the Nexus & Food and Nutritional Security Programme and the Water Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP).
On 17 and 18 January 2018, the National Hydraulic Directorate organized the workshop to validate Guinea's National Water Policy with IUCN funding. CWP Guinea took part in this important meeting the chair, Mr. El Hadj Mamadou Alpha HANN and the Executive Secretary, Mr. Hafiziou BARRY who moderated the workshop.
GWP West Africa together with the West and Central Africa Programme of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN / PACO) and the Regional Partnership for the Conservation of Coastal and Marine area in West Africa (PRCM) gathered the winners of the water and environment journalism award. The action took place on 25 November 2017 as a side event at the PRCM regional Forum that held from 23 to 27 November in Conakry, Guinea.
An intensive 3-day Finance Officers’ Training for South Asia lead by Salman Riaz, Finance Officer from GWPO Finance Team took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 4-6 September 2018. The training was with full of sharing, learning, networking, team and capacity building.
