Kickoff of Regional South-South Cooperation

From December 14 to 16, 2015, the “Regional Workshop on South-South Cooperation in Flood Management” was jointly organized by GWP China and GWPO in Guangdong, China.

Francophone Youth Water Initiative's up date

Some members of the Francophone youth for water initiative took part in the 14th edition of the international youth work camp from 23 July to 3 August 2015 in Burkina Faso. The theme of the camp was "youth leadership and responsible citizenship." In this context, the WYPW- Africa was represented by 15 young participants from neighboring countries (Benin, Mali, Niger, Ivory Coast and Togo) and a similar number of young people living in Burkina Faso with the support of the NGO Eau Vive.

Demonstrating IWRM as a tool for Drought Resilience in Uganda

Within the framework of IDMP implementation, GWPEA has started the process of documenting and sharing the knowledge about good case studies on drought resilience the Horn of Africa, in selected countries including Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia

Training on International Water Law in Africa

GWP and four of its partner institutions are organising a joint training on International Water Law (IWL) in Africa. The training will take place in Kampala, Uganda, 5-12 June 2016. It is open for up to 40 participants, and funding is available for 30 African-based participants. Deadline expired: Applications are no longer accepted for this training.

Danka Thalmeinerova on the Challenges of Knowledge Management

Danka Thalmeinerova is Senior Knowledge Management Officer at the GWP global secretariat in Stockholm. She joined the global secretariat in 2008 but has a long history with GWP before that – both at regional and country level. In the on-going interview series to mark GWP’s 20th Anniversary, Thalmeinerova speaks about her job: “I did not envisage how inspiring but challenging this would be.”

Danube Art Master 2015

Bratislava/Sarajevo, 21 September 2015. Iman Maljić from Bosnia and Herzegovina has won the “International Danube Art Master 2015” competition. The winning art work “Black Swan” was chosen from over 600 submissions.
