The Conference’s central aim is to tangibly contribute towards overcoming challenges relating to Water Governance & Financing as well as Water Integrity in the MENA region.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) works to support Caribbean countries in the sustainable development and management of their water resources. Since being established in 2004, the regional organisation has been hosted by its long-standing Partner, the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), in Trinidad.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) has interviewed women in the water community across the Network on their journey to become successful in their professions, how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also recommendations to other women.

The National Youth Parliament for Water of Togo (PNJE Togo) organized on 7 April 2017 the second edition of the Water Night in partnership with the collaboration with the Council for Basic Sanitation in Togo (CCABT).

Establishing strong partnerships is key to delivering GWP strategy and the implementation of programmes, says Mr Alex Simalabwi Global Water Partnership Southern Africa Executive Secretary and Head Africa Coordination Unit.

GWP Central and Eastern Europe successfully completed a project on innovative wastewater treatment, developed in cooperation with IRIDRA and the Water Science Institute in Slovenia. The project was supported by the EU Joint Research Centre and was implemented in Kamniška Bistrica River Basin Slovenia during the years 2016-2017.

Global climate is changing at an unprecedented rate and necessity of global political awareness that decisive action addressing climate change has risen over the last decades, but has often not translated into adaptation action. Especially the populations of global river deltas and coastal zones are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change occurring due to rising sea levels, increased magnitude and frequency of storms, flooding and salinisation. One of the main challenges faced by global institutions are to share gained knowledge, experience and expertise about adaptation in order to provide and implement the best possible adaptation measures to ensure human well-being.

Global Water Partnership (GWP) celebrates 20th anniversary at a time when the global development agenda is at a turning point. Following the recently adopted 2030 Agenda in 2015, a new animation video has been released to show GWP’s response to the world’s water challenges: partnership and cross-sector collaboration are key.
