GWP China has launched a new bilingual website, offering the latest GWP news from the region. Now all 13 GWP Regional Water Partnership websites share the same platform and branding.

GWP held a press briefing at the UNFCCC COP20 conference in Lima, Peru, on Tuesday 9 December. The delegates reiterated the GWP network’s firm support of a dedicated water goal on the post-2015 development agenda. The Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) was highlighted as an important tool to combat water related problems in connection with climate change.

During a ceremony held at GWP / WA the Mékrou Project manager, Mr. Corneille AHOUANSOU who resigned handed over to the Executive Secretary of GWP West Africa, Mr DAM MOGBANTE and received regards from his former colleagues. The chair of the CWP Burkina and two of his colleagues, the Permanent Secretary of the CWP Niger, Mr Radji GARBA who will support the ES in the technical implementation of the Project to completion and GWP / WA staff were in attendance.

The NCWR Programme is designed and implemented by GWP-Med. It started in Greece in 2008 and since then expanded in the Maltese Islands, Cyprus, and Italy.

GWP is responding to the climate change challenge through the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) which includes a portfolio of programmes and projects aiming to build climate resilience through better water management.

A training workshop was held on effective regulation targeted at Catchment officers due to their future roles in the catchment regulations, facilitation of the development of Catchment Management Plans (CMPs) and production of Water Charters to be signed by riparian State Governments within the hydrological area. The training was held on 2^nd and 3^rd February 2016.
