El pasado jueves 19 de octubre en el Palacio de las Aguas Corrientes de Buenos Aires se dieron cita representantes de más de 60 organizaciones argentinas para tener su discusión acerca del indicador 6.5.1. Autoridades nacionales, provinciales, académicos y sociedad civil abordaron el detallado cuestionario preparado por Naciones Unidas para este relevamiento.
The Executive Secretary of Ghana Country Water Partnership participated from 6th to 9th May 2019, in the meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts of the Volta Basin Authority at Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra, Ghana. About forty (40) participants were present, drawn from the six (6) riparian States of the basin, notably the focal points of the VBA in the countries and technical and financial partners including the IUCN, GWP-WA, UEMOA, and Water Integrity Network (WIN). Also, technical structures from Ghana participated in the meeting.
The pilot action on the head source of the Mekrou basin known as PAREM is coming to an end. A delegation of the Ministry in charge of water and the CWP-Benin carried out a mission on December 22nd, 2017 to monitor the activities carried out by PAREM.
On 5 November 2019, Partners of the Global Water Partnership (GWP) Southern Africa announced the new Chair of GWP Southern Africa and Africa Coordination Unit (GWPSA-ACU): His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania. His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete was the 4th President of the United Republic of Tanzania from 2005-2015.
