The session coordinated by GWP-WA was held on Thursday 23 May 2024 at the Senegal Pavilion during the World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. Facilitated by the GWP-WA Chair, Mr Abdoulaye SENE, it featured the distinguished visits of the Senegalese Minister for Water and Sanitation, Dr Cheick Tidiane DIEYE, and the Executive Secretary/CEO of GWPO, Mr Alan ATKISSOON.
December 11-16, 2023, with support from the GWP SEA and GWP China, the GWP Cambodia and Partners and Stakeholders were provided opportunities to explore the IWRM implementation in Yunnan Province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China.
“I am glad that within this short period, I was able to harvest more than 50 kilograms of cassava from the plot allocated to me which I shared with my fellow farmer families and sold the rest in the village market. I especially thank GWP Sri Lanka/SLWP for being with us from the beginning and supporting us in finding planting materials and training us on water efficient home gardening”.
Maximising the EU H2020 REXUS project visibility, GWP-Med, as leader of the Communication and Dissemination, ensured that the key outcomes of the project received extensive media coverage from national and local media.
The Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate Programme in Nepal marked its closure and unveiled a country specific Response Strategy for Water Resources Management on 29 March 2024.
GWP Africa coordinator Mr. Alex SIMALABWI signed on April 25 2024 the USD$ 6 million grant agreement for the AU-AIP GCF Readiness project to develop AIP national climate resilience water investment plans across 15 African Countries. More African countries are expected to be included.
