The NWSAS Consultation Mechanism held its 12th Steering Committee (SC) in Tunis, October 3rd, 2018.

GWP launched its Youth Engagement Strategy in 2015 and has since then been actively pursuing various youth initiatives. Coinciding with International Youth Day, GWP's new Youth Engagement Specialist, Rianna Gonzales, takes up her new position in the GWP secretariat in Stockholm, Sweden. She describes the youth sector as “an explosion of energy and hope."
The World Water Development Report (WWDR) has played a key role in informing stakeholders, including decision-makers, worldwide as to the status of water resources in relation to the UN World Water Day themes each year.
The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) facilitated a Southern African Development Community (SADC)– Water Division and Climate Services Centre (CSC) collaboration with the Green Climate Fund in Phase IV of the SADC- Hydrological Cycle Observing System (HYCOS) project. The collaboration was in the form of a workshop that involved the preparation of a regional proposal to enhance the Hydrological Cycle Observing System, DRR and climate information services in the region, including scope and targeted impacts. The workshop was held on 22nd March 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Ministry of Water Resources of China has introduced a Master Programme for Water Professionals, that is currently being implemented by the Chinese government.
