Each year on March 8th, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) joins the world in commemorating International Women’s Day (IWD); a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Following on GWP’s engagement for gender equality, GWP Cameroon has carried out a study on gender-related impacts of fluorosis in northern Cameroon. The report, which is due to be published shortly, shows that impacts are significantly worse for girls and women and that gender-sensitive responses are needed. The report was discussed and validated at a workshop on 24 May in Maroua, Cameroon, by key institutional actors, development partners, and civil society groups.
The first “International Workshop on Water and Agriculture in the Danube River Basin“ will take place from 6th to 7th November 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. Created in 2008 in Bangui, the CAR Country Water Partnership's mission is to support the government in the sustainable management of water resources through the adoption of IWRM principles. It brings together all the actors in the water sector, organised in groups of actors, who subscribe to the management and working principles promoted by the GWP network.
