On August 17, GWP granted formal accreditation to GWP Colombia - or “Alianza Colombiana para el Agua”, which is the local name. Colombia is a country recognised by its technical capacity in Latin America and beyond.

He has 17 years of working experience in agricultural water management, IWRM, climate resilience, water governance and integrity. He holds a Master’s degree in Climate Risks Management with a Diploma of Agricultural Engineering in Development and Management of Natural Resources.

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was established in 2012 as a financial mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), dedicated to addressing the climate crisis. The GCF is specifically mandated to promote country-driven, climate-resilient and low-carbon development. It is expected to become a primary channel through which international public climate finance will flow over time.

Follow up on training programme on IWRM to build capacities of actors in West Africa

An International Training Programme on Integrated Water Resources Management (ITP/IWRM) carried out between 2005 and 2010 was funded by the Swedish cooperation to train about 150 West African professionals on IWRM. The training covered 6 successive promotions and was led by Ramboll-Natura (now NIRAS), SIWI and GWP-WA as co-organizer and "regional anchor" of the ITP IWRM courses.

Competition for environmental art in the Danube river basin

Jointly organised by the Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), the competition encourages children to have a closer look at their local rivers and reflect on what the environment means to them. Children from all schools, NGOs, day care centres or associations for children in the Danube Basin are invited to create a piece of art and take part in the Danube Art Master competition, which has united thousands of children from across the Danube River Basin since 2004.
