Following a unanimous decision of the steering committee of the Central African Republic Country Water Partnership (CWP CAR), the Director General of Water Resources, Mr. Barnabé FALIBA, was appointed chair of GWP-CAR, with Madam Yvette NDONGA as the vice chair.
The GWP Technical Committee consists of internationally recognised professionals selected for their experience in different disciplines relating to integrated water resources management.
UNCCD COP16 is set to be the largest conference in the Convention's history, with high expectations for impactful outcomes, particularly in addressing drought. Held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2-13 December 2024, this COP will bring together global leaders, experts, and stakeholders to accelerate solutions for land restoration, resilience to drought, and sustainable land management under the theme “Our Land. Terrisha Walcott-Pierre a Master of Public Health candidate at the St. George’s University, has interned at the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean, becoming more versed with the real-world public health settings. Walcott, a public health professional was able to merge theory, with practical applications and enhance her skills as she conducted her practicum, gaining more insight on impactful community activities particularly the Mt. Granby Water Distribution Network Project.
