Call for Tenders for the installation of a Rainwater Harvesting system and creation of a green wall (vertical garden) at the building of the Urban Environment Management Department of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

Three main objectives guided the workshop's work: (1) to revitalize the Network, (2) to rework MAYI magazine issue 2, and (3) to revise the regional communication strategy of GWP CAf.

Strong connection between people and nature- crucial for joint management of river Drin Basin

The 2017 meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee of the Global Coordination Mechanism of the Mekrou Project held on 15 and 16 June 2017 in Niamey, Niger. The meeting aimed at validating the choice of a preferential scenario for the draft Strategic Framework for Water Security (SFWS) in the Mékrou basin. The Advisory Committee is expected to choose a preferential scenario to enable the consultant to develop it in detail by incorporating the needs for modifications of the action plans for adaptation to extreme events at the basin level as well as at the country level, the procedures for their management and the mapping of the actors concerned.

GWP, together with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW), opened a high-level discussion on how financing water security can accelerate delivery on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event, the first in a series of discussions on ‘financing SDG 6’, took place in Stockholm on 29 August.

The newest recruit in the GWP global secretariat is Nicolas Delaunay, Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Manager. Two months into the job, Delaunay shares first impressions of his new role, with an important message to partners: “We need to emphasize the urgency we are in.” This interview is the latest in a year-long series of interviews celebrating GWP’s 20^th Anniversary.

The 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9), convened by the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), brings together stakeholders to share practices and knowledge on how cities are built, planned and managed. The Forum is held 7-13 February in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
