The largest international gathering of water stakeholders, held every three years, the 10th World Water Forum - 'Water for Shared Prosperity' - was held in Bali, Indonesia, from 18 – 25 May, as the culmination of a multi-annual political, thematic and regional preparatory process. It attracted 64,000 participants and visitors from 160 countries.
As we approach the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia, themed “Water for Shared Prosperity”, it is an opportune time to take note of the current state of water management in the world. How are we doing in managing our water resources, and what is the outlook for the future of water management? Will the world be able to achieve water resources management in a way that will continue to enable our society to grow?
In a time where peace is on everyone’s lips, this World Environment Day reminds us that we are #GenerationRestoration – the generation that can regrow forests, revive water sources, bring back soils, and, ultimately, make peace with land.
