During the 5^th Meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Water Expert Group (WEG) in November 2015, a UfM Ministerial Conference on Water has been proposed to take place the first semester of 2017 in Malta. The technical process towards that was launched  with the WEG mandating a Drafting Group to elaborate on technical contents, in case the political partners decide to convene the suggested ministerial meeting.

Here are some of the news of 2015 where GWP or its representatives were mentioned.

The Mauritius Youth Water Network (MYWN) is an association comprising youth from different organisations (government, NGOs and other civil society organisations).  The MYWN was set up in June 2015 following a National Youth Forum during the SADC Water Week. The forum brought together youth leaders to develop a national action plan for the implementation of the AMCOW Policy and Strategy on Mainstreaming Youth in the Water and Sanitation Sector and SADC Youth Strategy.

India Water Partnership (IWP) in association with the 2030 Water Resources Group and Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department launched Hindon River Yatra, a Travel Exhibition and a symposium on 27 June 2016.

The NCWR Programme is designed and implemented by GWP-Med. It started in Greece in 2008 and since then expanded in the Maltese Islands, Cyprus, and Italy.

Some 40 key stakeholders from the government; private companies and banks; research institutes and Academia; media as well as the Civil Society discussed and contributed to the final draft of the Report ‘Governance in Palestine: Sector Reform to include Private Sector Participation’, during the Third Consultation Workshop of the Palestinian Water Policy Dialogue. The workshop was organised by the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med), within the Union for the Mediterranean project Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector and under the patronage of H.E. Mazen Ghuneim, Chairman of the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA), in Ramallah, on 16 June 2015.

A training workshop was held on effective regulation targeted at Catchment officers due to their future roles in the catchment regulations, facilitation of the development of Catchment Management Plans (CMPs) and production of Water Charters to be signed by riparian State Governments within the hydrological area. The training was held on 2^nd and 3^rd February 2016.

 

On July 6, 2016, the “Live Online Broadcast Launching the China Water Report” was kicked off at 15:00 of Beijing time (08:00 of British time).

Today, 5 October 2015 at the Regional Council Meeting, Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe is releasing a new video about the organization as part of a campaign for welcoming new Partners.
