The 3rd Consultation Workshop on enhancing the potential for Private Sector Participation in Water Infrastructure in Lebanon, with emphasis on the role of Banks was organised in Beirut on the 8th November 2017, as part of the National Policy Dialogue on Water Governance and Financing. The Workshop involved more than 25 targeted representatives of relevant public institutions, private banks, regional organisations and NGOs.
Earlier in 2017 a newly established Youth Water Community Central and Eastern Europe started a project about the reduction of plastic pollution in the river Ishmi in Albania. The project’s first activity was a workshop with local students that took place on 5 December at the Agricultural University of Tirana.

Professor Michel SEDOGO, recruited as a consultant, has the mission of helping Burkina Faso to develop a National Drought Management Plan.

A Regional Workshop for the Validation of the Draft ECOWAS Directive on Shared Water Resources Management in West Africa, held on 2 and 3 May 2017 in Dakar, under the chairmanship of Mr. Diène FAYE, Secretary of State in charge of Hydraulics of Senegal.
The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) facilitated a Southern African Development Community (SADC)– Water Division and Climate Services Centre (CSC) collaboration with the Green Climate Fund in Phase IV of the SADC- Hydrological Cycle Observing System (HYCOS) project. The collaboration was in the form of a workshop that involved the preparation of a regional proposal to enhance the Hydrological Cycle Observing System, DRR and climate information services in the region, including scope and targeted impacts. The workshop was held on 22nd March 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
