Institutional and policy frameworks supportive of water security and integrated water resource management is still a daunting challenge in Eastern Africa and the Greater Horn of Africa
Nearly 80% of economies of the countries of Eastern Africa and Greater Horn of Africa are agriculture dependents. Agriculture consumes more water than any other human activity and human survival in this region will continue to need among other requirements sufficient food and water.
The Eastern Africa region and Greater Horn of Africa experience the highest climate variability thus causing persistent prolonged droughts, erratic floods and untimely rainfall patterns
GWP Annual Report Files consist of the annual monitoring summary on: progress markers, logframe indicators, implementation of planned activities and self-assessment on progress around critical GWP functions. By wrapping up the annual performance, all RWPs are requested to draft out the the planned set of activities to be implemented in next year. The work plan files consist of context and workplan summary, detailed workplan and budget.
On December 2, 2016, the GWP China Hebei’s Partners Meeting and Transboundary Water Security System & Management Workshop were held in Hebei Province, China. It was hosted by the GWP China Hebei, Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources and Hebei Provincial Association of Elder Scientists.
