The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) in partnership with the Ministry of Water Resources Development and Management (MWRDM), today launches the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for Africa in Zimbabwe. The launch, which is in the form of an Inception Workshop is being held on 10 and 11th April 2013 at the Holiday Inn, Harare, Zimbabwe

The GWP’s annual Consulting Partners Meeting and the Regional Days were held from 22 to 26 August 2012 in Stockholm. The delegation of the GWP China participated in all the events and the discussions.

With one of the lowest per capita freshwater resources in the world, China have been investing in and seeking new ideas and methods for improving both supply side and demand side management of water resources. This has included numerous experiments in “eco-compensation”. The consultation workshop in West Africa on the strategy of the African Network of Basin Organizations (ANBO) was held on 21 and 22 July 2014 in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). It brought together representatives of Transboundary water management organizations, regional institutions, civil society in the region and the government of Burkina Faso.
