On 10 October in Slovenia a National Consultation Dialogue on Drought took place for a third time. The event was organised by the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO) and Global Water Partnership Slovenia in the framework of the Integrated Drought Management Programme in Central and Eastern Europe (IDMP CEE). 

On September 21 to 25, 2015, GWP China RWP, Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress, GWP China Shaanxi PWP and Water Resources Department of Shaanxi Province conducted a on-site survey under the framework of “WACDEP: Investment on Water” to collect the data and information on implementation of national and provincial investment on water projects, particularly on small irrigation areas and rural drinking water security. The “last Km” refers to the full completion of the irrigation structures invested by the national/provincial budgets; the final beneficiaries of the water projects in rural areas are farmers. The issue of “last Km” aims at achieving the best social benefits that can reflect the publicity, fairness, response and effectiveness of policies.

Under the Strategic Goal 3 Strengthen Partnerships, the WACDEP Programme of GWP China Region stresses cross-regional cooperation, network with different provinces, sectors and organizations.

The 11^th Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWP SA) Consulting Partners meeting will be held from the 13^th to the 14^th of October 2015 in Pretoria, South Africa. The meeting that is held after every two years brings together the GWP Partners in Southern Africa, GWP SA Board, Regional Technical Committee (RTEC) and the GWP SA Secretariat staff. Also invited are the Strategic Partners with whom GWP SA has programmatic alliances, but these are self-funded.

The Burkina Faso Water Partnership (CWP-BF) organized the first edition of the Water and Sanitation Trophies on Friday, December 2, 2016 in Ouagadougou. The purpose of the event was to magnify, encourage and give visibility to the men and women who have distinguished themselves in the field of water and sanitation. The ceremony was held under the patronage of the former minister of water and current president of the National Assembly, Salifou Diallo, under the presidency of Ambroise Niouga OUEDRAOGO, Minister of Water and Sanitation and the co-sponsorship of Mats HÅRSMAR Chargé d'affaires at the Swedish Embassy in Burkina Faso and Mr. Cheick Fantamady KANTE, Country Representative of the World Bank in Burkina Faso.

The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Secretariat with support from the European Union in delegated cooperation with the United Kingdom and German Governments, managed by GiZ, in collaboration with the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, will be holding the 7th SADC River Basin Organisation (RBO) workshop in Maseru, Lesotho. The Government of Lesotho on behalf of the Orange-Senqu Basin Commission (ORASECOM) will host the workshop from the 15-17 May, 2017

Jharkhand is a new state, established in 2000, to support the rights of indigenous people to have a separate state for themselves. Jharkhand is home to many of the country’s poorest people, despite the city being located in one of the richest areas of India in terms of minerals and natural resources. Agriculture, as the sole economic activity in the area, has not been properly developed (e.g. water facilities are poor and access to upgraded and modern agriculture-based knowledge is limited) and the land is prone to severe droughts, marked only by erratic rainfalls. Therefore, starvation and malnutrition of its citizens is widespread.
