The Tisza River is faced with deteriorating water quality as well as floods with increasing frequency and levels. These issues are exacerbated by climate change. Action has been taken, both by national authorities, international actors and NGOs to develop more adaptive management schemes. The key lesson is that in water management, the biggest problem is the weak coordination among different fields and interests – such as agriculture, nature, navigation, flood defence.
Half of the land area of Tien Giang Province in Vietnam is exposed to annual floods and the other half to saline intrusion. Action was taken to formulate the National RWSS Strategy and efforts were made to make local communities aware of methods and approaches in harvesting water and well drilling that are cost effective and sustainable in their development. The Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) organized the 2nd Post 2015 Consultation workshop on Water on Tuesday, 25th March, 2014 at Erata Hotel in Accra. The purpose of this workshop was to solicit the views of stakeholders on the targets set by the United Nation’s (UN) following synthesis of report on the 1st consultation process which is feeding into the Post 2015 Development Agenda.
