The 23rd International Congress on Irrigation and Drainage is organized by the Mexican National Committee of ICID (MXCID) from 8-14 October 2017 in Mexico City, Mexico. The main theme of the Congress is ‘Modernizing Irrigation and Drainage for a New Green Revolution’.
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is hosting a Partnerships Conference on 6-7 April, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. It will create a platform for the Bank to present its experience so far in scaling up investments and leveraging donor resources in the Bank’s High 5 priority areas identified as having the most development impact for its Ten Year Strategy 2013–2022.

At the GWP CEE Regional Council Meeting held on 1-2 October 2016 in Vilnuis, Lithuania, GWP CEE Council elected Prof. Tomasz Okruszko (GWP Poland Chair) the new Chair of GWP CEE for the period 2017-2018.
There will be three vacant positions on the GWP Steering Committee (SC) to be filled for the November 2017 Steering Committee Meeting, for terms of three years. All three will be selected from independent candidates (who can be self-nominated or proposed). Note 10 April: the deadline for this call has passed, we are no longer accepting nominations.
On World Water Day 22 March 2017 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana hosted a roundtable entitled "The importance of drinking water sources for international peace and security."
This year, GWP marks the International Women’s Day by highlighting quotes from women water champions. Drawing on the global theme for this year: Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality, we are asking women in the water community to answer the question: How can the water sector step it up for gender equality?
