A press event was held at the Athalassa Center for Environmental Education on December 2^nd, 2014 to mark the conclusion of the first phase of implementation works for the installation of new and the reinstatement of existing greywater reuse and rainwater harvesting systems at public schools and centres of environmental education.

Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) side event on ‘County Support for Water Security and Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Climate Finance’ was organized during the 2nd week of the UN Climate Change Conference (SB 42) in Bonn, Germany.

In order to contribute to the comprehensive and sustainable economic development in the region, GWP Central America has launched the Water, Climate and Development Programme, a programme that will promote water security as a strategic adaptation to climate variability and change.

The Water, Climate and Development Programme in South Asia was developed to support countries and regional organisations to integrate water security and climate resilience programming at transboundary, national and local levels through policy dialogues and participatory approaches. 

This year’s UN Climate Change Conference (COP19) brought some good news for the water community, said the GWP delegates who participated at the event in Warsaw, Poland 11-22 November.

February 2, 2015 – Global Water Partnership (GWP) launched a campaign today to maintain a dedicated water goal on the UN post-2015 development agenda.

According to the Dublin Water Principles, (1) water resources are to be firmly brought under the State’s function of clarifying and maintaining a system of property rights, and (2) through the principle of participatory management, the State asserts the relevance of meaningful decentralization at the lowest appropriate level. In other words, regulatory and compliance powers have, on the one hand, the responsibility to establish policies and regulations in relation to physical water resources, but on the other hand, also need to articulate how the people and institutions are in fact managing these natural resources.
