GWP Senior Knowledge Management Officer Dr. Danka Thalmeinerova conducted a training on the IWRM ToolBox in Sao Paolo, Brazil, on 9-10 December. The workshop was targeted at university lecturers from Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, and Brazil.
The Chair, Regional Coordinator, the IDMP project officer and Communications Manager of GWP West Africa took part in to the GWP Regional Days meetings in Stockholm from 8 to 13 May 2016.
LAUNCHING WORKSHOP OF THE INTEGRATED DROUGHT MANAGEMENT PROJECT IN WEST AFRICA (IDMP/WAf)
(Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso) – The "Integrated Drought Management Project in West Africa (IDMP/WAF)" is the title of the new project which will be officially launched on January 28, 2015 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (Palm Beach Hotel), with partners from three countries covered.
This meeting will be attended by forty participants from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.
The ninth (9th) session of the IWRM Experts Comity of the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS) was held in Lomé, Togo on 19 and 20 February 2015. The meeting was called to exchange on the evolution of IWRM in the region and review the ECOWAS/WRCC work plan for 2015.
The AMCOW Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation (Tanzania) will be holding the 6th Africa Water Week (AWW) and 10th General Assembly at Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 18th-22 July, 2016 under the theme ‘Achieving the SDGs on Water Security and Sanitation’. The Tanzania Water Partnership has been co-opted by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation as one of the lead institutions constituting the National Organizing Committee (NOC) for the 6th Africa Water Week. Several members of TWP are part of the NOC.

The Burkina WACDEP team had field trips in February (13th 2015) and March (13, 25 and 29) to first inform and discuss with interested parties on the progress of the demonstration project and find consensual solutions for the conduct of the project. Due to new budget limitation developments the intervention was reframed based on available financial resources.
