A delegation of the Executive Directorate of the Mono River Basin Authority (MBA ED) paid a working visit on 26 July 2022 to exchange with the Executive Secretariat of Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA).
The journey of our 2020 Water ChangeMakers came to a powerful end on 8 November at COP26, as they took to the global stage to present messages of urgency – and hope – to world leaders.
Through a high-impact engagement, GWP advanced many of its strategic objectives at the World Water Week 2024, co-convening events and collaborating with global leaders and partners, both longstanding and new, under the theme ‘Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future’. With record participation in Stockholm and online, GWP emphasised water’s critical role in peacebuilding and sustainability, reaffirming its commitment to actionable, cross-border water solutions.
Following the launch of Regional Strategy on Drought Risk Management and Mitigation for South Asia at the 16th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 16) to the UNCCD which was held on 10 December 2024, the countries of GWP SAS conducted mini-launches and key stakeholder consultations locally. The key stakeholder consultations around the strategy facilitated identifying the national level priorities that should be developed into action plans by keeping the regional strategy as the guide.

GWP-Med is leading the Communication and Dissemination Component, the Pinios field trip laid bare the challenges and opportunities of Greece's most productive agricultural basin.
