Global Water Partnership Africa Coordination Unit (GWP-CU) was the lead trainer for the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) regional training workshop on mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation into water resources in Seoul, Korea.

The 6th Zambia Water Forum and Exhibition (ZAWAFE) seeks to raise awareness on some of the main implementation challenges related to the themes of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Water Resources Management, Water Quality and Risks.

World Rivers Day is observed each year on the last Sunday of September and it is a celebration of the world's waterways. It highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public awareness and encourages the improved stewardship of rivers around the world. Professor Amadou Hama MAIGA was one of the presenters during the 19th Congress of the African Water Association (AfWA) held in Bamako from 11 to 16 February 2018. “Sanitation and Integrated Water Resources Management -IWRM” was the topic of the communication made by GWP WA chair.

The National Youth Parliament for Water of Togo (PNJE Togo) organized on 7 April 2017 the second edition of the Water Night in partnership with the collaboration with the Council for Basic Sanitation in Togo (CCABT).

Water insecurity costs the global economy roughly US$ 500 billion annually and causes the death and displacement of more people than cyclones, floods and earthquakes combined. In particularly vulnerable economies, a 50% reduction in drought effects could lead to a 20% increase in per capita GDP over a period of 30 years. Therefore, mechanisms to enhance integrated drought management are more critical than ever.

The Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) hosted the 7th Technical Coordination workshop of the Water, Climate and Development Program (WACDEP) from Monday 5th October to Wednesday 7th October, 2015 at the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. The purpose of the meeting was to share progress, approaches and lessons learnt in delivering the WACDEP outputs in the 8 countries rolling out the program. It also served as a platform to discuss the key constraints and opportunities identified during implementation, and set the stage for scaling up WACDEP implementation.
