On November 30, 1 and 2 December, the CWP Benin held in Parakou, a training session on IWRM and the integration process in the planning tools at local level targeting the elected officials and local stakeholders in the municipalities where WASH-Benin Program makes its interventions. The activity was financially supported of WASH-Benin Programme on the one hand with the technical facilitation of CWP Benin.

World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) will be jointly organising ‘Climate Services User Forum (CSUF 27 and 28 April 2016) for the Water Sector in South Asia’ in association with WMO’s South Asian Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF-8) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

“Water for Sustainable Growth” is the theme of the World Water Week 2016 organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) from 28 August to 2 September, in Stockholm.

Among the Week’s more than 140 events of different formats covering a range of subjects, the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) coordinates on 30 & 31 August, the “MENA Focus”, consisting of 4 separate sessions, each led by partners active in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Region.

Africa in particular its sub Saharan part, is one of the most affected areas in the world regarding food insecurity (Africa 2014 report on hunger, IFPRI). The agricultural sector which food security and poverty reduction depends very much on in Africa is likely to be affected by climate change if no action is taken.  It is against that background that The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa held national consultations on water and food in Malawi and Lesotho on the 21^st of April 2016.

On 22 March, 2016, GWP China hosted the Forum on National Water Security in Beijing.

The 11th General Assembly and Technical Workshop of the Mediterranean Network of Basin Organisations (MENBO) will take place 22-24 March 2017 in Malta, at the invitation of the Maltese authorities, and coinciding with the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
